Show Review - Black Summer

Netflix just recently announced a new Netflix original called Black Summer that is said to be airing on April 11. This Netflix original is a prequel to the Syfy series Z Nation. The first season will only have 8 episodes and will follow a mother who gets separated from her daughter. Throughout the season the mother, or Rose, and a group of people go and try to find her daughter. This series is said to not have the humor that Z Nation had as Z Nation was said to be a funny version of The Walking Dead. Black Summer supposedly is going to be more of a traditional zombie show. Its stated that no character from Z Nation will be in this prequel despite the references to Black Summer in the show as the Summer that everything went wrong in. Actor DJ Qualls, Simon or Citizen Z from Z Nation, said at a San Diego Comic Con that the reason none of the Z Nation people would appear in this show even though a characters background is based on Black Summer is because the Syfy show takes place a while after Black Summer did and the cast is “too old” to pull of the younger versions of themselves.
