With the release of the new game that is in development, I would like to discuss the game, character, and history of Shovel Knight and his crew. The game takes place in medieval times and every story takes place in that same time period along the same timeline of sorts.

The game was a Kickstarter that was made in 2013 by a very small company that hasn't done anything at the time called “Yacht Club Games”. They made an idea for a game that sounded like it was a Mega Man successor and it looked promising. It was released on June 26, 2014 with great results. It was put on PS3, Nintendo 3DS, PC, and Wii U in 2015. The game was rebranded to be “Shovel Knight treasure Trove” which was made to be a continued story.

Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope was the first story that was the original game. It was about Shovel Knight having to save his partner Shield Knight. He had to go across the different kingdoms to defeat the Enchantress who turned out to be a Shield Knight who was corrupted by dark magic. Ok story, good music, good game. 8\10

Shovel Knight: Plague of Shadows. Plague Knight was one of the bosses that Shovel Knight has to defeat but during the original story we learn that Plague Knight had his own plans and that was a super potion he wanted to create for his partner to love him. The gameplay is different (that doesn't mean good or bad), good story, good music but mostly the same as the first. 6.5\10

Shovel Knight: Spectre of Torment. Spectre Knight was the first man hired to kill Shovel Knight and so he is told he needs to put together a group. This takes place before the first one. The game has you playing as Spectre Knight for half and the other half has you playing as Donovan in a flash back. Donovan is him before giving his soul to the Enchantress. Best out of all of them. Great gameplay, great story, great music (remixes of the originals). 10\10

Shovel Knight: King of Cards. The story follows King Knight and his quest to become rich after gambling in a card game called Joustess. The game is also a half and half in which you do platforming for most of the game and Joustess in tournaments. This game added 40 extra levels. Great gameplay, funny story, good music. 9\10

All around the games are all great and very different from each other. I would definitely recommend playing the game. It is a good time.
