8th grade is adapting their “Scary Narrative” works from the previous year into a graphic novel. They can also use a current 7th grader’s story if they are given permission. Here at LaBrum Cast, we absolutely adore stories and would like to hear about yours! If you would like to know about both 7th and 8th grade scary stories in the works, read on!
Seventh grade is getting spooky!
Carlie McNally’s story is about a man who goes for a drive, when his music is interrupted by a broadcast about an armed man who has escaped from a psych ward. The driving man goes home, but he’s being stalked. He locks up his doors and windows, takes his dog, and goes to sleep. He puts his hand under the bed for his dog to lick, but gets annoyed by a noise from his bathroom. The man then gets up to check it out, he sees his dog hanging from the shower rack. A message is written in blood, “Psychopaths lick hands too,”. The escaped man, who was under the bed, kills our main character and then himself in the bath. We hope her story’s being used by an 8th grader now, it’d be an interesting concept to be drawn.
Julien Handlon wrote a story about a government facility where your life is upside down and it is written in the first person! The facility contains weird creatures. The narrator is kidnapped after they go to apply for a job, and wakes up in a cell with other people. A creature tries to attack the new test subjects, and only leaves after killing one of the people in the cell. During the next month, the narrator is in their own cell with another creature. It speaks to them before they pass out. If you want to know where they end up next, read Julien’s story to find out!
These eighth graders used their own stories, and you don’t want to miss it!
Michael McLeish’s tale starts out with him and his friend’s going to a haunted house on Halloween. The house has spirits in it, tormenting Michael and his group. It starts with these grim ghosts dropping objects near the kids to scare them, but the gang thinks there’s a person in there messing with them. They go around the house in a panic, and the spirits whisper words into their ears. They still have disbelief for the phantom, and try to leave. Calling an Uber, they make the escape. After their driver begins talking to himself, they get suspicious and try to talk to him. But, he doesn't listen. He turns around and is actually a zombie! The kids are eaten, and never seen again, because they’re in someone else’s stomach.
Jackie Hanton and Sydney Williams are using Sydney’s story, and are working together to bring it to life! It’s a 20 page book with 5 chapters, so here’s a little summary. It’s called “A Library’s Secret,'' about Christina and Tia’s school life. Tia, the bad girl of the duo, wanted to bring out her phone in the library because the school doesn't allow it. But, when she goes in, she finds the librarians secret. The librarian is luring teachers into her dungeon using hypnosis. Tia, the only witness, goes back to advisory to tell her friend Christiana about what had happened. They go back to the library to be on their phones again, but heard more of the librarians antics. She was hypnotising students now. Spoiler warning for this project! The duo goes into the dungeon, trying to help all the hypnotized staff and students. They found their librarians spellbook, and call the police. She is arrested and everyone is freed.
