In the NFL this week there was a new CBA (collective bargaining agreement) offered to the NFL owners and NFLPA( National Football League Players Association). This new CBA adds a lot of different new things and rules into the NFL. There are three new main things added into the NFL with this CBA. These are

There will go to 7 teams per conference therefore making the playoffs have 14 teams

The pearson loses 1 game having a total of 3, and adding one game to the regular season having a total of 17

Players revenue will go up from 47% to 48.5%

But that's not all it also will change the format of the NFL playoffs. So what will happen is that only the top seed of each conference will get a first round bye. Making it so there ends up being 6 wildcard games in total. The seeding will still be 3 versus 6 and 4th versus 5th, but there will also be 2nd versus 7th seed. These are major changes to the NFL and to the system. But this CBA isn’t automatically added on. It goes through a vote. First is the owners, they have already voted on February 20th, 2020. They voted for a yes to the new CBA. Now it’s up to the NFLPA. For it to pass the NFLPA 66% of the NFLPA have to agree to the CBA. The NFLPA votes today February 21st, 2020. If the NFLPA does vote for it this will have crazy changes that will take place in the 2021 NFL season.

In terms of what the NFL community thinks about it. Well the opinions are very mixed. There is no conscience opinion on it. But personally I like a lot of the changes. Except for the 7 team playoff. There is one main reason I really could care less for this because I don’t like the whole thought of an entire division being able to make the playoffs( 1 division winner and 3 wildcards). But every other part of the deal I like because I think it makes the season more interesting. Since players have more money to play for they will most likely play harder and who could hate more football overall.
