Greater Debaters

        Nilda Nieves has started a new elective called Greater Debaters. This elective was created for students to debate about current things they have on their minds. It could be political or anything at all. The whole elective would be a big discussion.

        “I would like to start them off, but not control them. Kind of like one of Mr Kelly’s seminar, where he asks questions about certain topics and the students get to control the discussion.” says Nilda, “They would be divided into groups based on their opinion and then they’d be able to debate with the other sides.”

        One student who signed up for this elective was an eighth grader, Kiara Pedraza, has this to say about it, “I picked this elective because I just love debating with people about serious things and I love when I make a great point.”
