On May 4, 2012 the movie “The Avengers” was released. This was being built up since 2008 and Stan Lee had this idea planned since the idea of the Marvel cinematic universe was planned. One of the characters, Phil Coulson died from an alien’s spear. The alien was called a Chitauri. He was dead and was dead for three days. In the show we learn that Phil is alive but very different from how we remember him. He and director Nick Fury create a team with two engineers Fitz and Simmons also just known as Fitzsimmons, Agent Melinda May, and Agent Grant Ward. Together they were the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. One person knew about them and she just went by the name of Skye. She was a part of a hacking group known as the rising tide and she was recruited to the group to help even though she was not an official member. They face off against people with powers and even a big plot point in Captain america. Hydra.
I like this show for many reasons. For one it connects itself to the movies subtlety like the plot points in the shows and the fact that the man who plays Coulson in the movies (Clark Gregg) plays him in this same as Samuel Jackson and Nick Fury who makes two appearances on the show. They pay homage to things from the movies like project P.E.G.A.S.U.S which was a really big thing in the 2019 movie called Captain Marvel. This isn’t apart of season 1 but ghost rider is in the show which means he is technically part of the MCU. The characters are great, the sets are good, the CGI is amazing for a TV show and it is all around a fun show and a good time. If you like Marvel and you like binging TV shows then watch agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
